Questions people ask

What do the green and amber lines mean?

Green is a road posted 35 mph and under. Amber is a road posted 36 to 45. SlowGo builds routes around the green ones. Amber appears only if you've chosen to include faster stretches, and when it does, you'll see how long it lasts before you start. Roads posted above 45 are not offered.

It says "That one's a NoGo." What now?

It means there's no route to that place that stays on roads posted 35 and under. Rather than quietly putting you on a fast road, SlowGo tells you. On that card you can tap "Show routes with faster stretches (36–45)" to see the other options for that trip, or try a different spot.

How do I get a one-tap route home?

Save your home as a favorite and name it Home. After that, when you arrive somewhere, SlowGo will offer to take you back.

Can I turn the voice off?

Yes. Settings, under Navigation, then Voice Directions. The Volume setting just below it controls how loud it is.

Can I see what I'm saving by taking the cart instead of the car?

Yes. Settings, under Gas Savings. Turn on Track Gas Savings, then set the gas price and your car's mileage, and SlowGo keeps a running total.

Where do I tell it about my cart?

Settings, under Cart Preferences. You can say whether you drive a golf cart or an LSV, and roughly how far you go on a charge.

What happens to my trips?

They stay on this phone. SlowGo keeps your last 100 and stores their start and end points roughly — close enough to remember the trip, not close enough to point at a doorstep. You can turn saving off, or clear them, in Settings under Privacy.

Does it work outside The Villages?

Yes. SlowGo works across the United States. It's built for The Villages, Florida, where the cart paths are best mapped.

I searched for a place and it didn't come up.

Try the full name, or a nearby cross street. If somewhere you know is missing, send it to me. A name and a town is enough.

Do I need an account? What does it cost?

No account, no ads, and nothing to pay.
